LAND USE AND LAND SURFACE TEMPERATURE

This exploratory researches explore the correlation between land use and land surface temperature (LST) in Iskandar Malaysia (Johor Bahru district). Utilising the Landsat satellite imagery and existing land use data from Town and Country Planning Department, the result sanctioned that urban land uses such industry, road network and commercial contribute significantly towards the so called urban heat island (UHI) effects.
